Hoo, it is true that ESPN will not wither and die without B1G football. But despite the fact that you don't watch the B1G games, more than a handful of people do. If ESPN has no B1G content on Saturdays in the Fall, it will leave a gaping hole in their advertising footprint. They can offer games from other conferences in that area, but it wont make up for the loss of the B1G from NJ to the Great Plains. It will affect the bottom line and they likely cannot afford to just let it slip away. I'm sure they're being careful with the price, but they definitely need some B1G FB.
