So my health insurance company just called....

They were actually trying to reach my wife, and for some reason had my office number associated with her.

The rep asks me if I can speak for her. I say sure.

She then tells me that they're calling to schedule a home health assessment, to check her vitals, review medications, etc.

I interrupt and ask, "Did you say 'home'?"

She says yes. And I'm thinking, "Why do you need to come into my house to do this? Whatever happened to an old fashioned physical in the doctor's office?"

Which, by the way, my wife had last October. So, yes, six months ago, my wife already had a complete physical.

Now I'm suspicious.

Then I remember a Lounge discussion a day or two ago where a doctor supposedly asked a female patient, "Do you feel safe at home?" as part of a visit that had nothing to do with feeling safe at home.

And now I'm kinda pissed, thinking that my health insurance company wants to come into my home, sniff around a little bit, and make sure my wife feels "safe" in her home. Ya know ... checking to make sure I'm not a wife-beater, or abusive in some other fashion.

So -- challenging you to discuss this without going UWS on us -- your thoughts? Am I just being paranoid? Why the hell would my health insurance company want to come INTO MY HOUSE to see my wife, who had a complete physical six months ago?
