Pro golf watch 1/14 - 1/17

The PGA Tour is back in action after the holiday hiatus. BDJ and JW are both in the field at the Sony Open in Honolulu, and both are looking to continue a pretty solid start to the 15-16 season. In the still very early FedEx Cup standings, JW is sitting in 41st and BDJ in 48th.

For some other happenings over the last month or so... Scott Vincent has taken his game overseas and has his sights on an Asian Tour card. He was the medalist at last week's second stage of Q school, and the final stage kicked off today. Needs a top 40 finish to earn his card, and he's 1 shot off that pace after the first round.

Trevor Cone signed an endorsement deal with Nike Golf, including with a group of a dozen or so young, up and coming stars in the game. Awesome for him - looking forward to seeing him get his professional career going this year.

Finally, after a few years playing development tours in the US, Jurrian van der Vaart is back on the European Challenge Tour, earning his card via 1st and 3rd finishes in December to close out the Alps Tour. The Challenge Tour kicks off in March. Nice to see him getting another shot at making a run at the European Tour.

Go Hokies!
