Me too! He was unreal!! But loved Loria also!!


I was hitchhiking back from Roanoke to Tech one Sunday afternoon in 1963, and got picked up at the bottom of Christiansburg Mountain by a guy in a white 1958 Chevrolet BelAir convertable. He stuck out his hand and said "Hi, I'm Bob Schweikert". Of course, as a freshman/rat in the Corps, I was both floored and impressed!! Great guy, wonderful athlete, and best runner I have/had ever seen in person (until Michael Vick, of course!). One of my rat buddies, Donnie Johnson,(God rest his soul!) also from Richmond, was on Bob's high school football team and knew Bob very well.
