If we are going to abandon the concept of amateurism, and essentially

become a minor league. Then we need to also abandon the concept of recruitment and install some sort of draft, that is how pro sports operate. Can't see the football powers liking the idea, nor can I see the recruits liking it either. Are they amateur "student" athletes, or pro athletes joining a minor league "franchise". The whole "student" thing seems to be getting in the way and causing confusion. But for most of these players, college football is the end of the line, and they would be better off to focus more heavily on the "student" aspect of the experience. If we abandon the college priority, we are doing a disservice to most of these players.
