Take out their SLBM boats (like typhoon and borei) so they would have little left to retaliate with if the threat of a wide exchange is pondered as a bluff(?).

That is one way to take the glimmer of hope they could hold the west off.

The equation changes since they wouldnt have survivable nuclear forces to threaten ultimate revenge.

There are other ways.

Their new Sarmat/Satan 2 ICBM is a serious thing.
