Men will likely finish 2nd, but 1st is possible if others help beat FSU.
Men can score points in most events, but lack sure-fire champions and may not have depth to compete in full complement of events since all finals are on same day. VT will not score points in hurdles, 800m, 10K, discus or javelin; but should have multiple scorers in 100m, 200m, 400m, PV & Decathlon. Can possibly have multiple scorers in steeple & high jump. Relays (4x100, 4x400) can score good points, but VT relies on same runners to compete in both relays & multiple events so the best combo's may not compete or be at their best in relays. For VT to win championship, everyone must perform at their absolute best and FSU's athletes must finish below their seed in multiple events either due to poor performance or other competitors finishing ahead of FSU. Every point will be critical, so any finish above/below seed will be magnified. FSU does not appear as strong as previous years; is ranked below VT in a key poll & Cianelli is a master at preparing the line-up to win ACC Championships.
