A look at our remaining strength of schedule

As of this morning, VT has 11 games remaining in the regular season, and 10 of those are at home. Only today's Marshall game is away (edit: this game has since been canceled). We fell to No. 6 (from No. 5) overnight in the RPI so I thought I would take a look at how our remaining opponents stack up, based on their RPI rating and Quadrant positioning. As of today, we have four Quadrant 1 games left; one Quadrant 2 game; five Quadrant 3 games; and one Quadrant 4 game.

Quadrant splits are as follows:
Quadrant 1 (teams ranked 1-50)
Quadrant 2 (teams ranked 51-100)
Quadrant 3 (teams ranked 101-150)
Quadrant 4 (teams ranked 151-301)

Below shows how each of our remaining opponents stack up with respect to where they currently fall in the Quadrant hierarchy, as well as how many games we still have with each:

Marshall (1 game): Quadrant 4 (RPI rank of 210)
Villanova (2 games): Quadrant 3 (RPI rank of 134)
Liberty (1 game): Quadrant 1 (RPI rank of 38)
Louisville (3 games): Quadrant 1 (RPI rank of 16)
Kansas State (1 game): Quadrant 2 (RPI rank of 91)
Duke (3 games): Quadrant 3 (RPI rank of 108)

Obviously those rankings are constantly changing but as of now that is where our opponents sit with respect to their RPI rating/Quadrant positioning. I wouldn't mind seeing Duke creep up to below 100 and get a Quadrant 2 rating.
