Speaking of old cars, if you recall, I gave my 1999 Infinity SUV with 125K

miles on it to my grandson. He took it out somewhere in the desert I assume and blew a tire. Who knows what else he damaged. Sooo, I just paid for 4 new special order tires. Came to $850 and now his parents are considering fixing some other problems. Problems I never had BTW. They took it to the dealer who gave them an estimate of around $3k parts and labor. I looked up the parts on Car Parts.com and came up with a fraction of the cost for parts. Labor was 1K of that cost. When I mentioned it to them, They said they weren't interested in doing any of the labor. So, I assume they will go with the dealer est. I'm outta here. Moral of the story, stay away from trying to do something good for the family. Especially with family.
Wishing I had never given up the car.
