Anyone know how to make an old car have that new car zip?

What does age do to a car that makes it feel a little sluggish as it ages? Does boring out the cylinders fix this?

Always wondered about this and figured we have some car gurus in the Lounge.

I have a 2009 Merc E350 that was never very fast too begin with, and it is just my commuter car, to the BART station. It only has 110k miles on it.

Thanks Lizards
