I wouldn’t draw any conclusions, good or bad from this weekend’s results

FS and folk, while having some similarities, are quite different.

A TD is a TD but in folk, a defensive wrestler can play the edge and not give up a point, unless he gets hit for stalling. Guys In folk can get in scramble positions and either not give up a TD or get one of their own. FS back exposure negates these types of folk wrestlers typically doing good at FS except for Yianni and a few others.

Also, a guy who is a dog on top, can grind out 2 minutes of the match in folk where the ref stops the action if turns aren’t accomplished quickly in FS. Plus, a FS guy can put 4.6 or 8 points for n a blink of an eye or get a tech.

There are really good college wrestlers who never won a natty title but excelled in FS, like “lace man “ Green. Frayer was also a beast in FS and was recently stilling tossing the young studs on their heads.
