I agree. Just about every post about this subject has some fabric of pay


for play, minor league, farm league, pay me this.....the "student" is or has gone out of student athlete. At least for the two major sports, but the non-revs are beneath the surface.

The more the board posts and discusses this subject and the more athlete examples like the Miami Wong kid...the more questioning I and others will start having on what exactly am I donating to the Hokie Scholarship Fund for? It could also change the dynamic of Whit's/Ath Dept marketing and requesting donor money to pay the scholarship funds. When I see marketing adds like the picture below, yet read and see the $8M and $400K and other NIL deals, I start wondering 'well why do we need to pay their scholarship when they can pay and be set for life now before even going pro IF they even do?!'
