Income cap is not an issue. I just have no debt, no mortgage

only one kid at home, and generally live below my means so I'm saving close to 40% of my salary between retirement and non-retirement.

My employer doesn't offer a Roth 401k, so I'm trying to contribute the full $7k to a Roth IRA, separate from my 401k. I'm just trying to make sure the $7k limit for a Roth IRA is fully independent of the contribution limits for a 401k.
