On a serious note, have to wonder about SW viability

Phoenix is now the 5th largest metro area in the U.S. When I spent a lot of time there three years ago, I would ask locals about water. Sometimes those locals worked for local governments. They always cited the aquifer, which ... I mean, an aquifer by definition is limited. What then? I don't see how Phoenix and some other SW and West areas can survive more than 5-10 years, maybe less.

Down in Monterrey, Mexico, which is also in a drought, gubmint is turning off industrial water every Monday and, lately, randomly during the week. That's not sustainable.
