#1 Men's Club Lacrosse head to ALC Tournament this weekend in Lynchburg
After a first round bye, and a well deserved weekend off, the #1 Hokies (12-1, 4-0) will be back on the field this weekend. At 5:30PM Tech will try to get their 2nd win of the season against Pitt (8-5, 2-2). On Feb 27 in Blacksburg they beat the Panthers 16-9. Not to be taken lightly, Pitt is a much improved squad, riding a 6 game win streak, including last week's ALC tournament 1st round win against WVU* 16-8.
If the Hokies take care of business on Saturday evening they will be back on the field at City Stadium at 3PM on Sunday to play the winner of #5 Liberty (10-3, 4-0) and #7 Clemson (12-3, 3-1). Clemson squeaked by NCSt 12-11 in their 1st round game. The Tigers defeated the Flames 14-13 back on Mar 11 at Liberty.
Tech won 21-11 at Clemson on Apr 3rd and beat Liberty 8-5 Apr 15th in Blacksburg.
Providing there isn't a total collapse on Saturday, the team is headed to the MCLA national tournament which will be held in Round Rock, TX on May 9 - May 14.
If you'd like to help the team make it to nationals there's a link below to help them cover the costs. The team has to pay their own way.
*For those that read my little writeups and remember details, you'll note that a couple weeks ago I said Pitt would play JMU last week. However, for some reason the Dukes declined the invitation so WVU filled in.
