Just figured out you mean "The Bounty" made in 1984. Saw the 1962


version w/ Marlon Brando at a summer matinee at the Byrd Theater in RVA, probably summer of '63. Shook me up, man's inhumanity to man and all that. I was going on 11YO at the time. Still remember that. Kinda like Sophie's Choice, never want to see that movie again either.
