Had good fortune to attend a recording clinic with Eddie Kramer in '96.....

in Norfolk. Super cool to meet and hear an actual famous recording engineer who'd worked with Jimi, Led Zep, and of course..... KISS.

I don't know about Alive II, but I can tell ya straight from his mouth, because he did it all, the only thing honestly live, on KISS Alive is the drum tracks and the crowd noise.

He had to, not just the band wanted to, he HAD TO go back and re-record all vocals and all guitar, including bass.

They made that many mistakes, and had that much pitchy-ness in vocal delivery.

The live album was essentially re-built in his studio. Straight from his mouth.

Now, that doesn't surprise me in the least, given KISS one, and two, how difficult it must be to perform in those get-ups, but truthfully, it's not a live recording, except Criss and the audience.
