AND...there's actually something else he wanted to say...
He shared it with me one-on-one and I'll use it in my summary article, but I'll share it here as well because it fits in this thread and I could tell that it was VERY important to him. I suppose it won't be the worse thing if you see it twice.
"I’m seen as not having a ton of emotion on the softball field, said D'Amour, "so it was very hard for me to keep my emotions in check, especially at the end of the game. This senior class is extremely special to me. They’re the first class where the majority have played in my program for four years and they’ve done everything the coaches have asked of them. I’m fortunate to live a pretty good life with my family and I owe a lot of that good fortune to the ladies that played their last conference game in Blacksburg today."
Chip again: I won't pretend to be objective, but I sure am glad that we have Coach D'Amour in charge of our softball program.
