Pitching will sort itself out. If Payton List is the real
deal, then you have a similar setup to this season except that ace 1A (Lemley) would only be a sophomore instead of a senior. Imagine that! But I’m sure Rosenberry and Osborne will continue to work and be given a chance to be a legit #2 because you never know how incoming freshmen will work out. They won’t all be like Emma!

Catcher - is it Yates, incoming freshman Aldridge, or someone not yet on the roster? And, if it is Yates, has Lawter been able to groom her the way Keely groomed Emma? I mean, Lawter’s prowess behind the dish will be incredibly difficult, no—make that impossible—to fully replace.

Outfield (one spot anyway) - assume this is between Brown and Green, if Overaitis becomes a full time starter in the OF. Are Federico and/or Louko going to compete for a starting spot or are they more role players like the pinch running we have seen them do a lot of? My guess is that they want to compete for a starting job in the outfield. Maybe there will be a competition there or maybe they will all split time. Who knows. And one of the freshmen could factor in, too.

But dang. However it shakes out, we have a boatload of talent retuning and a boatload of talent coming in. That ain’t a bad place to be! Also….in Pete we trust. Have confidence that he will maximize the sum of the parts. He has way more (and way better) information than any of us. We are all just amateurs guessing at this.
