The final senior/graduate we honor is Keely Rochard, Pitcher.

Bachelors Degree in Sociology. She is a 5th year senior, does anyone know if she is pursuing a Masters Degree?

Keely has received so many awards and accolades, we can't put them all down in this bio, but here are a few: NFCA First Team All-American. ACC Pitcher of the Year. NFCA Mid-Atlantic First Team. 2X First Team All-ACC. 2X USA Top 25 Pitcher of the Year. Moved to #2 VT history when she recorded her 1,000th career strikeout in 8-1 win over Liberty on April 12.

Pitched in the 2021 College World Series, in the regionals and super regionals. Led the NCAA in strikeouts last year and #5 this year. Leads the ACC in strikeouts this year with 245 so far.

After Coach Pete was hired in 2018, he said after some formalities, he got down to the 2 questions: "How hard do you throw and what’s your go to pitch?’ She answered, '65 mph, rise ball.' That helped me sleep that night!"

Rochard has become one of the most storied pitchers in VT history. She always points to her teammates as a source of her success, her two catchers, Mac Lawter and Alexa Milius and her stellar defense committing very few errors.

Quote from her catcher Mac: "These past 5 years have been so much fun, especially getting a front row seat to watch Keely perfect her craft and become one of the best in the nation. Having played travel ball together, I am so glad we got the opportunity to come to Tech and get 5 more years together. When I am catching Keely, I always know what to expect from her, and her consistency is something that always gives us a chance when she is on the mound.”

The comfort level, and the bond and friendship that Keely and catcher, Mac, whom she calls her "battery mate" share is unique in softball. They also played travel ball together at Williamsburg Starz Gold.

Signed NIL and partnership with Campus Ink this year 2022.

Favorite baseball player is Derek Jeter. She is a licensed cosmetologist and has done her teammates' nails. First started playing softball when she was 9. Early on she said she was really bad, she walked everybody. She also played basketball, volleyball and swimming.

Born in VA Beach but graduated from Warhill High School in Williamsburg, VA, home of the Lions. Surprise--she used to bat cleanup at Warhill. Finished high school career with 51-1 record with 46 game winning streak. VA High School Softball Player of the Year.
