For some reason I remember her throwing out a steal attempt at UCLA

it was one of the latter two games and it was getting pretty clear how it would end. UCLA was trying to run up the score anyway - I guess as they should - the UCLA base runner took off for 2nd and Lawter gunned her down sorta a "Hey, we're still here" statement. 'course it wasn't a statement, it was just what she does even when the chips are down.
