To be charitable to ourselves, we are all armchair perfectionists.

In reality, that’s not how competitive sports goes. You are not going to be perfect every night. You’re going to run into teams that are playing for something, even if it’s just pride or because they think it would be cool to knock off a very highly rated team. Louisville is on the bubble for the tourney. They are very dialed in. Not saying VT isn’t, but it is hard to play w maximum intensity every night during a 50 game regular season. And we didn’t make any costly mistakes tonight. We just couldn’t finish a few innings where we probably had a chance to get at least 1 or 2 more runs. It wouldn’t have been as close had we gotten another hit here and there. But we didn’t do anything that we really regretted.

This team has a lot of confidence in themselves that they can find ways to win tight games. And they are 8-2 in one run games. Look at our losses. Generally one or two games, in fact all of them may have been one or two runs.

Let’s get another one w Emma tomorrow!
