Less games per day and more rest before the championship series

Since 2005 here is what the set up was.

Thursday: 4 games, all 8 teams play
Fri: 2 games, 4 winners play (4 losing teams day off)
Sat: 4 games with all the 1 loss teams battling out for 2 spots (2-0 teams day off)
Sun: semifinals 2 games guaranteed but 2 if necessary games depending on who wins
Mon-Wed Championship Series with Wed game if necessary

This year’s set up

Thursday: same everyone plays
Friday: same, 4 winners play
Sat: only 2 games involving the 0-1 teams
Sun: only 2 games involving all the 1-1 teams
Monday: semifinals 2 games with a possibility of 4
Tuesday: day off
Wed-Fri championship series with Fri if necessary

So basically more rest and less chance of playing 2 games in a day for a team. Also allows flexibility if weather plays a factor, games more easily moved to days with only 2 games. And that day of rest before the Championship series begins.
