Evans will always be a "what could've been" had he stayed one more year


Despite an absolutely stellar 2016 season, it seemed obvious to everyone in the world except Jerod himself that he should return to VT for the 2017 season. Alas, he took a shot at the NFL way before he was ready, it predictably didn't pan out at all for him, and Tech was left bereft. It was pretty much downhill from there in terms of QBs in the Fuente regime, really. We could never get settled at that position once Jerod was gone. Oh well, it's history now.
