...well over 300 hp. Back in the 80s, remember the Ford 5.0 V8 only produced ~220 hp. It could easily be built to produce well over 300, but that's what our auto manufacturers were giving us. The V8s in the late 80s were usually producing less than 200 hp. Take the "Smoky & the Bandit" TransAm...I think that 6.6L produced around 185 hp.
