I don't follow other boards, but here article after article linked here

from multiple sources are talking about a huge money gap between the SEC/B1G and the ACC, PAC and B12 and the SEC still doesn't have Texas and Oklahoma in their financial mix. You know the B1G whether they admit it or not, is going to try to keep up. They always try to play the Public Relations high road, but they have already invaded the ACC and the B12. USC-w goes out and tops LSU's ridiculously high offer for Kelly and takes a guy who was headed to the New SEC, that's significant to Notre Dame and a shot at the New SEC. They did it for a reason and it sure isn't about the PAC TV money. Many think they are buying their way into the New B1G which will span from coast to coast mostly in the North, but USC and probably UCLA will be a part of that. Add Stanford and Oregon and that's a heck off a move money wise for them. Notre Dame is going to see the writing on the wall, so will UVA, GT, and maybe UNC, Duke or Miami .

Then throw in everything that is coming out of Washington DC is that student athletes are being taken advantage of financially, whether it be a "unanimous" Supreme Court decision (not many of those days around big public issues) or Congress getting in the game literally, and yes the board has turned quickly. The ND guys weren't here in 2003, but the same thing happened. First it was denial, and then it was shock, and then people flipped to don't be left out of the top tier of college football. Some say history repeats itself, and right now it sure does seem that way and there is way more happening at so many levels now than 2003.

PS This is not just the ACC or the PAC or the B12, it's Notre Dame Independence too. I am waiting for TerryD who liked it when I moved to being concerned about the ACC, to answer whether he thinks Notre Dame's Independence could fall sooner rather than later. Even if he comes back with he thinks they will stay Independent for the next approximately 12-13 years like he always does, I am not buying he's not concerned it could be sooner rather than later whether he admits it or not. PaNDalum, what do you think is going to happen over the next 2-3 years or less?
