Someone outlined this last week. Bottom line: we can’t lose any more games

ACC games that is. We still have Tennessee, Liberty, and Radford out of conference. But if all ACC games on the schedule are played by Duke and VT, and Duke wins all 6 of theirs, we need to win all 7 of our remaining ACC games (including today, of course). We will end up playing one more ACC game than Duke, if all remaining ones are played (they had 2 rainouts at Notre Dame, we had the one at Pitt—on the same weekend, I believe).

Duke’s remaining ACC series are Syracuse and Pitt. After today, ours are Louisville and BC.

Last night WAS our margin for error. No more losses or Duke likely gets the #1 seed. Although, as last week’s poster pointed out, it looks like it might be better to be the 2 seed because you might end up playing Notre Dame instead of FSU. You look at the remaining ACC schedule, Notre Dame has 1 more game vs Clemson, but FSU has to play them 3 times. Not crazy to think Notre Dame could end up being the 3 seed, in which case you would probably prefer to be the 2 and not get matched up against the 4 (FSU in that case). I don’t want to play FSU again, even on a neutral field.
