For a short article, it really does sum up the different philosophies. I think there was merit to Fuente's desire to have expected outcomes, but I also think he publicly emphasized it to a point that the players were too tight to just go make a play. I personally would rather push the limits and then ease back to the sweet spot.
I also think that the overall takeaway from many players was that the play is designed to be perfect and if you go off script you will ruin the coach's perfect plan. That can be demeaning. Sometimes the best plays are the busts. They are confidence builders and spur momentum.
