As I understand, there are still a lot fewer flights out there

and more of them get delayed or cancelled vs. pre-pandemic, but the flights that are running are almost always full.

Another difference is what you see now is mostly recreational travel. Business travel still hasn't picked back up since companies are finding Zoom meetings acceptably effective.
