MLAX poll update. Hokies up to 2. BYU remains 1. Liberty falls to 4

Hokies close the season against cross division rival Liberty in Blacksburg this Friday at 7PM.

Both Tech (11-1, 4-0) and the Flames (10-2, 4-0) have gone undefeated in their respective divisions so both have earned 1st round byes in the upcoming Atlantic Lacrosse Conference tournament at City Stadium in Lynchburg.
As the Southern division champ the Hokies will play the winner of the #2 v #3 team from northern division on April 30th. #2 is JMU (7-2, 3-1) and #3 will be the winner of Pitt (7-5, 1-2) or WVU (3-10, 1-2) played tonight.
Tech defeated WVU 18-6 and Pitt 16-9 back in Feb. JMU was not on the schedule this year
Liberty will play the winner of the southern division's #2 team Clemson (11-2, 3-1) and #3 NCSt (6-6, 1-2).

Clemson is currently the 6th ranked team in the country. And also receiving votes are NCSt (would be 27) and JMU (would be 32) so VT should have the easier road to the championship. But they need to keep up their momentum for these next few games to not only make the national championship tournament, but get a high seed.

The ALC championship will be on May 1st

The winner of the ALC is guaranteed a spot in the MCLA national championship in Round Rock, Tx May 9-14. It is a 16 team tournament with slots going to the 9 conference champions and 7 open bids.
