It does put to rest the "well by the rules it is an illegal pitch" argument

I'm sure that if you took a frame by frame capture of every softball pitcher in America 99.9% of them would have both feet off the ground in at least one of those frames. Sure in football there is holding on every play, but at least there are signs that refs will go for. Defenders getting tackled from behind, defenders trying to turn and can't that sort of thing. For illegal pitch it is purely umpire decision with seemingly no consistency even for the same pitcher.
