There was a TV show that featured two brothers in Florida who did TransAms


One restored old ones, and the other did what you're describing. At one point, they contacted Joey Arrington for engines that produced something crazy, like 1,000 hp.

What was even crazier is that Joey is a MOPAR guy, not a Chevy guy. If you aren't familiar with him, his dad, Buddy, raced NASCAR back in the day, but never was able to get a sponsor. He did fairly well for being on such a shoestring budget. His son eventually started building Dodge engines for NASCAR, and did quite well at it. Just looked him up, and he's moved from Martinsville, VA to Concord, NC to be closer to more NASCAR teams.
