Head over to the Bama or UGA boards during football season. They make us all look like absolute saints over here.

As Chip said, anything derogatory toward the players on this team is just plain douche. They are giving 110% every day and are great reps of VT. Coaches and umps are fair game for criticism of all sorts—they get paid to do a job.

When a team starts winning (any team, including Olympic sports like softball and wrestling), it won’t be a hidden gem for long, unfortunately. People of all stripes are attracted to winners. The best you can hope for is that they support the team through the ups and downs, and that they become knowledgeable about the sport, team, opponents, etc. But I don’t think the lively banter over here is a bad thing as long as it isn’t critical of the players. Life ain’t always peaches!
