Doug appeared to chirp a few words at the guy, and he was immediately gone. Is that diffusing the situation? I just think that one ump had a chip on his shoulder and was not objective.

Be very wary of umpires who look into a dugout after they make a call. They are asking for a reaction. That’s not how it is supposed to be, and they know it.
