Yep. The guy calling it on Emma today was behind the plate yesterday.

You can’t make that call from behind the plate. This same guy was at first base on Friday night but Emma didn’t pitch on Friday. The first base umpire yesterday (who I do believe called a few on Emma) was the guy behind the plate today. Basically, you move from 1st to HP to 3rd in a three man crew. That’s the order of the rotation. No idea how they decide who gets which assignment to start the series. We are LUCKY this guy at 3rd today wasn’t there yesterday. Emma probably wouldn’t have been able to get out of the 1st inning.
