I’m sure the data is available. How many times has he called it when he’s the third base ump? If he has called it a lot or even a fair amount, then I guess you could still argue with his interpretation, but at least you would probably need to admit that he is consistent. If he hasn’t called it much, or at all, prior to today, then I think you have a legit gripe that he’s being influenced by some kind of external factor. I mean, this is the objective way to look at it. Study the data on him.
