I think he wants to beat the predicted outcomes and risk aversion to the point of causing players to play tight and make more mistakes instead of less out of the culture.

Maybe this is why last staff struggled with player development, If you never ask guys in spring ball practice to take risks play aggressive test their physical and mental limits how can they develop well? If you do not let them do this in practice and limit their time in games how do they get better?????
