I live about ten minutes from the lake and work at the power station

Lake Anna is a really busy lake. Lots of boats and lots of people who don’t know how to operate them correctly. Couple that with the smaller size and accidents are not a rare occurrence. Keep your wits about you and brush up on boating rules/law.

The lake is divided into a public side and a private side. The public side is the largest side and offers our lives boat ramps, marinas, and restaurants. The private side (or hot side) is the discharge side from the power plant. If you’re renting a house there don’t expect any amenities (and expect at average ten degree warmer water).

The lake area is a relaxing spot, albeit fairly remote. If you’re into the brewery or winery scene lots of good options close by.

There are a few restaurants on the lake. Tim’s is a popular spot up the North Anna side as well as The Cove up the Pamunkey side. A tap house, Asian spot, and Italian restaurant are all on the Louisa side of the 208 bridge.

The area doesn’t have a ton of amenities and definitely adheres to a slower way of life. Hope you enjoy your time down this way and if you have any other questions let me know I’d be happy to help.
