I had a neighbor, since deceased. Old guy; WWII vet (Navy)

Herb was a character. Old schooler's old schooler. Had a country boy sense about him, and modern things often perplexed him.

Over the fence- (Riverguy), I went to the VA yesterday and they assigned me a new doctor.

Me: Yeah? How'd it go?

Herb: It was a woman.! A woman doctor! Can you imagine!? A woman doctor! (he seemed incredulous)

Me: What will they think up next, Herb?

Herb: She asked me if I could still get an erection! A woman doctor! Asking me that!

Me: What'd you say?

Herb: I told her it depends what I'm lookin' at. (guffaw)

Damn, I miss Herb. Once told me he'd "never drank taxed liquor until I got in the Navy.."
