You cannot overstate how dominant the pitching is at VT. Having just played FSU (this is from a UVa perspective) their pitching is not dominant but steady. They are like Greg Maddox was in his day, in that they hit their spots and spin the ball well. They can get up in the high 60's with their pitching but that's not their game. They play solid defense, hit the ball hard, and have good speed on the bases. I just think that Tech's pitching will give them trouble. I also think their catcher will have difficulty with VT on the base paths. She is 6-1 and is definitely in the lineup because of her bat. UVa's problem is we could never get anyone on the bases!
