not a caption, but our high school baseball team would hang a tire from


the gym basketball goal support during winter practice: one player would hold
the tire tight to his gut while a teammate would take 20 solid home run swings; in turn
the holder would take the tire as tightly to his gut as he could and take the bombardment.
they'd switch and each would hit the tire again 10 times as rapidly (machine gun)
and as hard at the same time as he could. Of course there was another switch so the other
guy could rapid-fire the cafeteria lunch out of the guy who had just beat it out of him!
when we went outside for spring practice, i saw baseballs run away and hide
from the pitchers who threw batting practice. after three hits they were so lopsided
and good for nothing - but maybe autographing and giving to little kids who could
instantly throw a knuckle-curve on every toss.
