Sure they can. But with the right cutter head and a little care


it would work. Certainly better than the chainsaw, angle grinder, woodchipper, or other auditions for the Saw franchise that have been offered.

Not that I have any idea, but I would think they would have a circuit that goes through the band that would trigger an alarm when cut. Probably would be better off to just cut the foot off. I think I'd go for a very heavy, very sharp blade for that. Something like a big cleaver. Make it as clean and quick as possible.
