Extra Innings Softball named Coach D'Amour their Mid-Season Coach of Year


Yes it only mid-season, and it doesn't mean anything in the overall scheme of things, but good publicity is never a bad thing. And it goes to show VT is on the national radar and that's not a bad thing.

The article says this about him:

"Pete D’Amour, Virginia Tech

"The ACC is a rising conference and Virginia Tech has risen to be the cream of the crop in impressive fashion. The Hokies have lost just three times this season, including a pair of losses to Alabama that saw the Tide score just three runs in both games combined. VT looks like a serious postseason contender and have certainly made the most of increased pitching depth behind Keely Rochard. The Hokie offense has clicked in similarly-impressive fashion and the Hokies have also dispatched some top-level opponents in the non-conference portion of the year."

The same story references Emma Lemley as being considered as Freshman of the Year.

Keep it rolling, Hokies and let's win these awards at the end of the season when it REALLY matters!!!
