The throat culture should show what type of bacteria

I am wondering if they initially gave you the incorrect antibiotic. The doctor should be able to see on the culture results what type of bacteria was growing in the culture. Your doctor should be able to get you on the correct antibiotic.

This happened to my mom at the hospital. They initially put her on the wrong antibiotic and she kept getting worse. When the culture came back they put her on the correct antibiotic and she got better then.
