My F-i-L had a guy working Security for him in a Pawn Shop->


who used to wrestle at events when they came to Richmond. This guy was not a big name, never got to that level. He wrestled on the undercards at the Richmond Coliseum. He was an ex U of R football player and a BIG dude. Really great guy!

My F-i-L would ask him the day of a match, "Are you going to win?". Big T would go get his script and show it to him and say, NO, I get taken out with a Sleeper Hold (or something like that),.

He never said they weren't staged, BUT, he said, if you don't think getting landed on by a 250 pound man from the top of the ring ropes, or thrown out of the ring onto the floor doesn't hurt like hell....you just AREN'T paying attention.

He said they trained like hell, and rehearsed, but things could and did go wrong and you took quite a beating, staged or not!
