Festool is the Maybach of power tools

Can't say it's the Cadillac of power tools since it's German, but you literally can not buy a better tool. If you're talking binoculars, this is the "high end" Zeiss, Leica, and Swarovski category.

As for you #2 category. Those will normally provide a "home owner" a lifetime of use. Batteries won't hold out, but the tool will. Contractors will wear these out, but that takes a lot of use. Definitely worth the money.

Frankly the #3 category will probably give a "home owner" a lifetime of use too. They are pretty solid and worth the money.

I personally wouldn't buy anything in the #4 category that I planned to use for more than one job. They are on the level with Harbor Freight.
