I went to the LaBrea Tar Pits once. Thought it was pretty cool. Catalina Island (part of Cannel Islands) is interesting. Never been to the Los Angeles County Museum of Art or The Getty but heard they were good…… If you go down to Orange County, I’d say hiking at Crystal Cove (and the Crystal Cove beach), lunch/breakfast at Beachcomber, walking Laguna Beach, Balboa Island and ferry to Fun Zone (lunch at Newport Landing)(beach and pier), Huntington Beach (bars, restaurants, pier, beach), Mission at San Juan Capistrano (maybe Swallows Inn, never been but heard it’s interesting).….I have lots to say about Orange and San Diego counties but not so much about LA. My focus is generally on outdoorsy type stuff and restaurants and bars.
