Amarillo. Although I am a bit familiar with Pampa. My Aunt lived in Matador


About an hour south. Lots of open space and cattle.

The Matador Ranch is an interesting spot. Once the largest cattle ranch in the world, and owned by the Koch brothers.

In between Matador and Pampa are some beautiful canyon state parks. In fact the largest canyons outside of the Grand Canyon are there. Pretty amazing.
Check them out if you have time.

My aunt used to count boll weevils for the Federal Government. So that gives you an idea of the excitement available in the area.
