Careful there cowboy, PhoHo knows of what he speaks! I lived in Montgomery

County, NC which before the California gold rush was THE major gold producing area in the US of A! Area streams are still a fun source of panning and it is rare that you are not successful! So find something else for which to roll your eyes and be edumicated! And you are always welcome to come to the beautiful Uwharrie National Forrest…. And bring your gold pan!
