New Kent caught lightning in a bottle

Through luck and some good old fashioned program building (recruiting/redshirting), they got about 7-8 guys that were state champs or high state placers as "freshman" 4 years ago. That has (thankfully, for the rest of VA class 3, run its course. Staunton River this year is almost in the exact same place NK was back then. They had 4 freshman place (2 champs, a 2nd, and a 4th, I think) this year. Skyline is good, and Christiansburg is still good. Christiansburg is having numbers problems. They were forfeiting 4 classes. Literally had 10 kids on the team. Still had 3 Champs, a 3rd, a 4th, and a 5th. Two of those champs were seniors, but they have a couple of really good freshmen coming up next year. I'm close to that program and it feels like things may be on the uptick. I would guess next year it's Staunton River's to lose, with NK, Skyline, and Cburg fighting for 2nd - 4th.
